Here at Campbell University, the sisters of Alpha Delta Pi first came home in fall 2016. Since then, we have established a genuine sisterhood with a strong legacy that will thrive for years to come. The qualifications for membership in Alpha Delta Pi have remained unchanged since the sorority was founded in 1851 - scholarship, high principles, and true friendship. Our sisters exemplify these ideals everyday, making them distinctive leaders within our chapter, and across the CU community at large.

My name is Avery McCamy, and I currently serve as the President of the Iota Beta Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi at Campbell University. I am majoring in Kinesiology Pre-PT with a minor in health and wellness. I came home to Alpha Delta Pi in the fall of my freshman year in 2019. Coming to college and
leaving home was one of the hardest transitions I have had to endure thus far, but I can now confidently say that I found my new home. I have had the honor of serving our chapter as Scholarship Assistant, Music Education Specialist, Vice President of Membership Experience, and now President.

 

Coming to Campbell was a big change for me. I lived my entire life in the same town and change was never something that came easier. Joining Alpha Delta Pi taught me that change can be the best thing to ever happen to you and you have to be open to change to be able to see growth. Alpha Delta Pi changed my perspective on life and made me excited for all the changes to come instead of scared of them. This allows me to now look at life with excitement instead of fear, especially with the uncertainty that comes with years after college, but I know that Alpha Delta Pi will always be there to support me along the
way.

 

As I said coming to college and moving away from home was hard and I would have never been able to do it without the constant support I gained the moment I became a sister. I will not say that these last three years have been easy but with my sisters behind me, I can overcome anything. Alpha Delta Pi has brought me many amazing memories and some of my closest friends that I hope to have for the rest of my life. Alpha Delta Pi has also taught me more than I ever thought possible. I have learned how to problem solve, conduct myself, communicate, and be a leader who has begun to prepare me as I
transition into the real world. Joining Alpha Delta Pi is one of the best decisions I have ever made and is one I would choose to make over and over again. The Iota Beta chapter of Alpha Delta Pi is something
that will always have a piece of my heart and I will never stop wearing my badge
